Guest: Learn to Integrate Meditation into Your Life with Emily Kessler

In this episode of Hey Close Friends I had the pleasure of speaking with my friend and meditation coach Emily Kessler. I learned this method of meditation from Emily and I want you to integrate this practice in your life as well! Trust me, it’s life changing! If you are anxious, overwhelmed with your thoughts and just don’t know how to sit with yourself and your thoughts, Emily will help you ease into meditation.

Emily explains how meditation is THE act of self-love. It’s hard to sit with yourself and let your emotions flow, be quiet with yourself and be there for yourself. I took Emily’s course, and wow, it just clicked! I love the way Emily teaches because anyone can do it, it’s a come as you are type of thing. The way she presents meditation is so welcoming. There is such a misconception around this practice… when people think of meditation they might think that you have to sit straight and shut off your thoughts, but it’s not really like that. In fact, when you are sitting there trying to meditate your thoughts might go even wilder, you can’t just shut them off. Her meditation style is not about shutting off your thoughts, but it’s more a place where you sit for a period of time with your thoughts and not judge yourself. The style she teaches is very simple; it’s a mantra based technique that gives you an anchor in the practice and anyone can do it.

There are so many benefits that come from this, and I can totally attest to that! I know that with our busy routines it can be hard to carve time for yet another thing on our checklist but this is for your own well being and it will be worth it! As Emily explains, having a solid morning meditation practice is the building block, the foundation upon which everything else can be successful. If you can carve just a little bit of time for some quiet time, some peace, some me-time before the day rushes in, you will soon realize that it will become a non-negotiable in your routine, no matter how busy you are.
