Your ‘Best Party Yet’ with Nick Gray!

In this episode of Hey Close Friends I had the pleasure to interview the brilliant Nick Gray; entrepreneur and bestselling author of the book, Two Hour Cocktail Party, which is a step-by-step handbook that teaches you how to build big relationships by hosting small gatherings.

I met Nick in New York at a picnic several years ago, and he would invite me to these really cool parties. They were always in unique places, had really fascinating people attending, and only ever lasted two hours. Flash forward years later, he came out with a book that gives the perfect formula to hosting a party that will increase your network, foster friendships, and have you being seen as a community builder in no time. Turns out at all those parties, I was a beta tester for Nick and his experiments to find the perfect party formula. I like to think I was an early adapter of the Nick Gray way and have since hosted eight parties after moving to a new city using his formula. I call these parties Club New Friends, and since hosting them, I believe my world has blossomed. I am so excited to pick Nick's brain about all things community, making friendships as an adult, and how to host the best party ever.

I know from experience that meeting new people and making new friends as an adult especially if you decide to take a leap of faith and move to a new city or a new country is pretty tough and it can feel very lonely and frustrating. How many of us have been to parties/gatherings but end up leaving meeting no one? I am sure a lot of us! Well, in some ways Nick’s book is like a Bible for me. When I host these parties, people are like, this is the best party I have ever been to! And I have some friends that continue to come to the parties. Like they are kind of the staples and they're like, best one yet, best one yet, every single time!
