EPISODE 3 WITH DANIEL ‘DAN’ SHERMAN

Guest: Express Yourself through Fashion with ‘Dan’ Sherman

In this episode of the "Hey Close Friends" podcast, Daniel ‘Dan’ and Stephanie discuss about finding your own style and what it looks like to push yourself out of your comfort zone (not only through fashion!). Do you ever see somebody rocking the most random or weird outfit with such confidence? Dan is definitely that type of person. He has the most random outfits, but you can tell how they bring him so much joy and he wears them with confidence! Join Stephanie and Dan as he explains his journey of finding his own unique style also impacted his self-love journey. Dan spent a few years traveling and over the course of this time, because he couldn’t collect souvenirs he started collecting unique pieces of clothing that all had a story attached to the places he visited. To him, clothing is art, and this is truly a form of self-expression.

Stephanie also speaks about learning more to listen to your inner voice, in terms of style and the struggle of letting that voice prevail over the fear of judgment from others. The fear of judgment can be such a show stopper! Stephanie explain how in many instances she felt judged for wearing something that is not ‘common’ and a bit more fun than your usual piece of clothing. She specifically shares about one instance where a couple judge her for her fun pink pants and how she saw the couple judge her negatively (or at least that’s how it played out in her head). Dan explains how to snap out of this thinking when wearing cool, fun clothing. People are a mirroring image of yourself. If they are judging you for wearing cool clothes, it’s probably because they don’t have the courage to express themselves at that level. Reminder from Dan: ‘You are hot!’
